Our Key Team members

James A. Nashman,


Mr. Nashman graduated from the University of Calgary, Alberta, Canada, where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree of Commerce majoring in Accounting and Finance.  He began his real estate career with the May Department Store Company in retail commercial and business development.  In 1985, he joined Colliers Turley Martin Company to focus on site acquisitions for retail, office, apartment, and hotel developments.  In 1991 Mr. Nashman joined The Michelson Organization, a regional real estate development and investment holding firm, continuing to pursue retail, multi-family and hotel acquisitions, dispositions, and development.

In 1994, Mr. Nashman joined The Midland Development Group (later sold to Regency REIT), where he became a development partner focusing on the acquisition and development of commercial projects, as well as build-to-suit opportunities in Colorado, Michigan and Florida.

In 1995, Mr. Nashman co-founded Pelican Bay Developments, Inc., with partner Richard Lauer.  Completing their first project, a Publix-anchored retail center in Bonita Springs, Florida, Mr. Nashman grew the firm’s presence throughout Florida specializing in ground-up build-to-suits, and acquisition added value opportunities.  Having established relationships with Publix, Kroger, King Soopers, Safeway, Sweet Bay, Fresh Market, CVS, Walgreens, Home Depot, Dollar Tree, Kohl’s, Wal-Mart, Target and many other retailers, Mr. Nashman continues to expand his retailer development program with new opportunities being explored in ground-up and acquisition/reposition projects throughout the southeast.

Mr. Nashman’s development background and expertise has extended over the past 24 years to include the development, entitlement or repositioning of grocery, lifestyle and mixed use centers, medical and office developments, apartments, boutique and major brand hotels, marinas, residential condos, luxury homes and large land tract entitlement.



Mike Liggins, PE, MBA


Mike has over 20 years experience in civil and environmental engineering. Mike, as an associate with the ComTerra Group, provides assistance in the oversight of residential, retail, commercial projects, and mixed-use projects, including various disciplines from initial site selection through municipal approval, construction and operations turnover.

Prior to joining, he served as director of engineering for a private utility company. He was responsible for capital improvements, including the design and construction of membrane bioreactor and reverse osmosis treatment plants, development permitting services, and acquisitions.  Earlier in his career, he served as design engineer and project manager for residential, commercial and municipal projects at WilsonMiller. He is a licensed professional engineer in the state of Florida receiving his engineering degree from the University of Central Florida and his MBA from the University of Florida.



Scott Marchand


Scott Marchand has been involved in real estate and development since 1993. Scott is a member if CTG Development which is a development arm of Comterra Development Group. Scott has also a principal in Whitestone Realty Capital from 2005 to March of 2019. From 1993 through 2006, he was involved in many aspects of the real estate field that included appraisals, mortgage brokerage, construction management, project development, and commercial finance. Scott is currently involved in the development of Hospitality, Senior Housing, Apartments and Self-Storage. His most notable project is the 175 room Hyatt House located in Orlando, Florida. Scott is also a partner in 1Up Golf based in San Diego and an Advisor to Global Trust Group based in Las Vegas. Global Trust has also partnered with Scott and his partners to create and equity fund called ValeRoc.

Scott is prolific on social media and continues to grow his network. Scott primarily devotes his time on social media to real estate topics. He has grown his social network (personally and groups that he started) on LinkedIn to over 225,000 members. Scott is easily able to get thousands of views on his posts.
